We recently spent 5 lovely days in Queensland

Our trip to Australia Zoo was a highlight - especially for Jack
He has a huge crush on Bindi

The beaches were just glorious

We loved being able to play and swim in Winter

Eddie wasn't a fan of the sand but eventually moved from his towel to a rock

We all have the post holiday blues and are missing the lovely weather

Hello there. We are finally all unpacked and settled into the new house. I have even had some time to work on new necklaces.

These ones are wired Japanese Cord with removable buttons. You can have 1, 2 or 10 if that's your thing. Being wired they sit really nicely around the neck.

We're on the move again. It's been 3 years but after some less than positive experiences with our current house we are out of here...looking forward to having air conditioning again! Besides, our new house is much nicer and warmer and bigger and well about 1000 times better than where we are now in almost every way. Can you tell I love it?

Happy 1st Birthday Eddie!

My gorgeous little man turned 1 last week. Hard to believe it's been a whole year. He has completed our family and brought us so much joy.

I decided on a theme of The Very Hungry Caterpillar for his birthday. It's one of my favorite children's books and both my boys have loved reading it over and over.

Eddie looked so cute in his special birthday shirt with the help of the very talented Ms Curly Pops

The cake was a success despite my usual tantrums of 'I'm never making the cake again'.

I think the true test was that all the kids ate their cupcake

Especially the Birthday Boy!

I feel very happy to have survived the first year but also a little sad as my youngest is growing up so quickly. I am looking forward to what the next year of his young life will bring. Love you more than the whole world Edward xx

We lost a very important member of our family this week. Our lovely little dog Henry was put to sleep after suffering a stroke. He was almost 13 years old. Henry joined the family when my then boyfriend (who later became my husband) and I moved into our first house. He loved to chase his ball and was a wonderful companion to everyone. Jack is really missing his little doggie. Our backyard will never be the same.

RIP Henry. You will be sadly missed

I bought these cords before Christmas but have only just found some time to play with them. It's nice to deviate from the usual and keep the creativity happening. I am hoping to have some up and ready for my next market but they still need some tweaking. I also want to wear one for a few days to see how it sits.

Flood Relief

The floods Queensland are experiencing are completely devastating. I'm heartbroken just seeing these sorts of images in the media. I can't even imagine how the locals are coping. I have several dear friends living up that way and am so, so thankful they are safe and dry.

The handmade community is once again coming together and generously donating their goods and services to raise money in support. Here are just a few of the online auctions and sales going on at the moment.

Christmas is almost upon us. This year it has been very exciting in our house as Jack is of an age where he now understands about and believes in Santa Claus. I think I'm almost as excited as him. I can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning. It's also a special one as it's Eddies first Christmas. I'm sure he will appreciate all the discarded wrapping paper :)

It's been a rewarding yet difficult year. Edwards arrival although joyous was very traumatic. My physical recovery was much longer than we anticipated. Thankfully I'm feeling more like my old self everyday. It's been a great learning curve having 2 kids to wrangle. Some days I wonder what I have done but the bond my two boys have is a blessing in itself.

I hope to be crafting a lot more in 2011. No grand plans. Just be nice to get back some 'mummy' time and see where that takes me.

I'm a bit late but I wanted to show off my loot from the MMM last weekend. I have been admiring Jo's (from Frankie and Ray) scarfs for AGES so we did a little crafty swap. I love it so much and have been wishing for the cooler weather to last just a bit longer so I can keep wearing it.

I also bought a new nappy bag as the old one didn't hook onto my pram so well (that's what I told my hubby anyway!!) Fiona from Spare Room is a regular at the MMM and she just happened to be having a moving sale. I really love the measuring tape detail.

The last MMM for the year is on the 20th of November - just in time for Christmas. I'll be having a stall there too!

My little man is 4 months old....crazy isn't it? He is such a lovely little soul. He's giggling his head off and trying to roll. He's pulling himself up to sit forward too. I wish I could stop time for a bit and enjoy more of this age.

He is besotted with his big brother. They are becoming great mates. However I am getting a little concerned that Ed is watching him TOO MUCH and is learning all Jack's tricks...watch out mummy!!

In other 'non children' news I am slowly working my way back to some button making. I have new fabrics (oh, ah) and some new necklaces in the works. I will endeavor to have my made it shop up and running in the next few weeks and hopefully be able to do a market (or 3) leading up to Christmas.

My little munchkin is almost 10 weeks old now. Time really flies with the second kid...

Life is busy. The days seem to flow into each other. Edward is pretty much perfect. He's chubby and soft. He's smiling, giggling and chatting. He loves to have his forehead stroked when he's sleepy. He's a boobie monster. He loves his big brother and saves the best smiles for him. But best of all he SLEEPS...I finally know what it is like to have a baby that sleeps.

Since Eddie was born we've been spending more time at home. I'm not really the kind of mum who kicks the footy around so we do a lot of crafts. Jack has started to show a real interest in painting. He also likes to 'borrow' my digital camera. This makes my heart sing as I majored in painting my first year at uni and then in photography my second year.

Only 6 and a bit weeks to go! EEK! The above photo was taken at 27 weeks. I'm quite a bit bigger now and I think my tum has dropped a little. So far it hasn't been too bad of a pregnancy. My sickness went away at 18 weeks. Baby moves A LOT and has been since he was 10 weeks baked. Probably the hardest thing is having to run around after Jack. He doesn't nap in the day anymore so I often hear him yelling out 'wake up mummy' when I occasionally dose off while playing - sometimes I even cop a building block on my head

Jack is very, very excited. We're starting to regret telling him so soon as he's constantly asking now when his baby brother is coming out. It's sooo cute. I think my favorite thing so far is sharing it with Jack. He's at an age where he understands what's happening (mostly) He's helping choose clothes and toys. Were just about set up. Baby will be in a make shift room (sharing study/playroom) until we can find a bigger house that suits us. I've tried to be good and curb buying too much 'stuff' but I already feel bad that he will be mostly in hand me downs. I guess it's the curse of the same sex second child.

So feeling rather 'large'. Can't bend over anymore. I can't see my feet, which is probably a good thing as they are swollen most of the time...oh the joys!

I've been on the waiting list for over 6 months but I managed to score a last minute stall at the Sisters Market this Saturday!

It is their last market before Christmas so the perfect opportunity to pick up some great handmade gifts.

Well I'm half way there! 20 weeks! I finally stopped feeling sick about 2 weeks ago...trying to get back into the swing of things. Last week we had our morphology scan and I'm happy to say our bub is growing very nicely and everything is where it should be. We are also having another little BOY! It was quiet a surprise as this pregnancy has been completely different to Jack's (so far) A lovely surprise though.

Jack is rapt of course. He has already put in some suggestions for names - Sam or Jeff (from The Wiggles) He seems very excited about the prospect of a little brother although I'm not sure he will feel the same when the baby arrives. Only time will tell. In the mean time I'm enjoying Jack reading and singing songs to my belly. Very sweet!

This is my second last market before Christmas and before our new baby arrives. Next year I'll be having a break (from markets) until I can work out what heck to do with 2 kids...

The last Northside Makers Market was a huge success! There will be over 40 stalls with a sausage sizzle, kids crafts and face painting. Be sure to pop past and say hello!

The first Northside Makers Market was a fantastic day! The weather was PERFECT! The three ladies who organised the day should be very proud. I had a fun day although was close to sleep by the end of it. I forgot to bring my camera (preggy brain) but luckily there was lots of happy snapping going on. Already looking forward to the November market! Well done ladies!

I'll be at the Sisters Market this coming Saturday 3rd October 10am til 4pm. It's in the Town Hall on Sydney Rd, Brunswick. If you haven't been it's a fabulous market! Spotlight is just up the road as well as heaps of other great shops and cafe's.

I'll have with me lots of necklaces, rings, brooches, lapel pins and earrings in all my usual fabric.

I heard a rumor that I was buried under a pile of Japanese Fabric and that's why I wasn't blogging anymore...well it's not too far from the truth. I am still recovering from that yucky virus I had over a month ago. Looking forward to getting back into blogging. I have a new market in the works and some other news too so stay tuned!

oh hello there...remember me? What an unexpected bloggy break. Before I even realised the time had flown. I wish I could say I've been doing and making wonderful exciting things but I haven't. I have no idea what I've been doing really. Just life.

One very lovely thing that happened was this special parcel I received. My lovely friend Kris (who won second prize in my giveaway and shares my love of Japanese fabric) sent it to me as a thank you for her necklace. It absolutely made my day!

Unfortunately Jack and I have been struck down with an awful lurgy so I had to cancel my stall at the MMM. At least I won't have to make much stock for the Sisters Market in October.

The sisters market was great...not fantastic but pretty great. I heard from a lot of other stall holders that it was a quiet day compared to previous months. I was happy enough. The feed back I received was excellent and that's all you can hope for. Guess what the best seller was and the fabric which generated the most comments? the new tape measures...I knew I was onto a winner when I saw that fabric :-)

One of the highlights of my day was all the lovely visitors I had. Two of my gorgeous pregnant friends stopped by so I could have a break and check out the other stalls. I met Margaret from a little bit of kaos, Liesl and Bargy stopped past, Suse from Pea Soup was wearing one of my necklaces, Melanie from sugarlemon said hello with her gorgeous new boy and last but definitely not least was Cam from Curlypops and Cathy from TinnieGirl.

Thanks for stopping in and saying Hi. Lovely to see some of you again and to put some faces to names :-)
